Cobeia is a wide music lover that spreads his sonic interest and knowledge into:

A) djing – He’s been playing for the last 10 years in just about any nice squat, bar, artist studio, galery & contemporary art event, festival (Garden Party and it’s after party, Fête de la Musique, Terrasse du Troc 07 & 08…) private party, special event (360° parties) and clubs in Geneva and occasionaly in Switzerland and Berlin. B) being a promoter since 2001 – organising concerts and parties of varied electronic and electro acoustic musics in almost every nice underground venue in Geneva. He programmed people like: Glass Candy, Appleblim, Kode9, Jeans Team, Desire, Sonig label showcase, Dandy Jack, Dachshund, nd_Baumecker {Panorama Bar}, Volcano the Bear, Colleen, Julie Doiron, … and many good Geneva local dj’s like Sonja Moonear, Crowdpleaser, Cosmokolor, Fil… and live acts like Ghostape, Imperial Tiger Orchestra, What’s wrong with us?…

Daniel Rosenthal now mainly organises “écoutes au vert”, a 5 year old free & itinerant summer festival, that dispends good music in beautiful green spots by the lake and river sides of Geneva. Cobeia also programmed special events like Terrasse du Troc 07 & 08 (a 4 month social & art open air summer project for which he was asked to book a varied program of music styles with local dj’s and highlighted the swiss national day party by booking the legendary dj Scratchy, Clash’s tour dj at the end of the 70’s early 80’s, whom introduced them to reggae and dub music. http://www.terrassedutroc.ch/Menu.htm

In june 2007, together with artists Andreas Kressig and Peter Stoffel, he put up, a 3 day electronic music and installation project in a beautiful parc on behalf of Fêtes de la musique, comissioned by the City of Geneva. It featured many of the best local live acts and djs (Corwdpleaser & St Plomb, Fil, Floating Mind {monokrak.net}, Zonoff/Das andere Selbst crew … + special foreign guests Bidibop {optical sound}, Max Tundra (Domino) and Boris (Panorama Bar). The festival was a success in terms of music & artistic quality, wonderful surround sound, high public attendance and enjoyment for the audience.

Cobeia also runned successfully TUTTI FRUTTI, a monthly Thursday electronic music party taking place for 9 month at the cool venue Letage (that had to close in summer 2008). He proposed there, to a nice and motivated audience, different live acts like Phonophani {Rune gramoffon}, Larytta {creaked rec}, Hopen {creaked rec} Modern Hedonists {Vanina Hänin} and djs: Daria {cadenza}, Knifehandchop {Tigerbeat6}, Peter Grummich, Strobocop {Karaoke Kalk/Kalk Pets}, Boris {Panorama bar / Careless}, the Juan MacLean {DFA}, Daniel Wang {environ/Balihu rec}, …)

He’s also one of the founder of duplex, a nice self-runned alternative space that was dedicated to music and contemporary art since the year 2001. Cobeia programmed there many concerts until 2007 with artists such as Kevin Blechdom, Planningtorock, Mocky, Dat Politics, Max Tundra, Dj/Rupture, Team Shadetek, Un caddie renversé dans l’herbe, Goodiepal, Bus, Phono …) djs (Headman, Lemercier, Plastique de Rêve, Crowdpleaser …) and record collectors nights (Italo Disco, Post disco crash, No Wave/Post punk…)
